Pittsburgh Penguins Tickets – Do You Know Your Penguins?

The 2008-2009 season for the Penguins has a great lineup on the ice that includes forward players Matt Cooke, Sidney Crosby, Pascal Dupuis, Ruslan Fedotenko, Eric Godard, Tyler Kennedy, Evgeni Malkin, Miroslav Satan, Jordan Staal, Petr Sykora, Maxime Talbot and Michael Zigomanis. Defensemen players include Philippe Boucher, Mark Eaton, Hal Gill, Alex Goligoski, Sergi Gonchar, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik, Rob Scuderi and Ryan Whitney. Goalies for the Penguins are Marc-Andre Fleury and Mathieu Garon. Unfortunately at present, however, Gonchar, Zigomanis and Fedotenko are on the injured reserves list. Penguins forwards in the system are Sergei Anshakov, Paul Bissonnette, Aaron Boogaard, Luca Caputi, Tim Crowder, Michael Gergen, Brian Gifford, David Gove, Adam Henrich, Evgeni Isakov, Connor James, Dustin Jeffrey, Nick Johnson, Mikhail Kazakevich, Mark Letestu, Chris Minard, Nathan Moon, Janne Pesonen, Casey Pierro-Zabotel, Johannes Salmonsson, Ryan Stone, Jeff Taffe, Bill Thomas, Keven Veilleux, Joe Vitale and Tim Walace. Defensemen players in the system for the Penguins include Robert Bortuzzo, Nicholas D’Agostino, Jonathan D’Aversa, Deryk Engelland, Alex Grant, Ben Lovejoy, Vladimir Malenkykh, Joey Mormina, jake Muzzin, Chris Peluso, Danny Richmond, Timo Seppanen, Michal Sersen, Carl Sneep and Brian Strait. Goalies include David Brown, John Curry, Patric Ehelechner, Chad Johnson, Patrick Killeen and Alexander Pechurski. None of the in system members are currently on the injured reserves list. Penguins trainers and coaches include head athletic trainer Chris Stewart, assistant athletic trainer Scott Adams, physical therapist Mark Mortland, team physician Charles Burke, head equipment manager Dana Heinze, assistant equipment manager Paul DeFazio, assistant equipment manager Danny Kroll, video coach Travis Ramsay, head coach Michel Therrien, assistant coach Mike Yeo, assistant coach Andre Savard, strength and conditioning coach Miek Kadar and goaltending coach Gilles Meloche. The Penguins are currently ranked 10th in the Eastern Conference League games with 23 wins, 21 losses, 4 OT and 50 points. Fortunately the season is just getting underway and that gives the Penguins plenty of games left to work their way up in the standings. Although the Penguins recently lost the January 20th game against the Hurricanes, they’ll be playing two more games in January against the Devils and Maple Leafs to see if they can add some more wins to their tally of games played. In February, the Penguins will take on the Lightning, Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Sharks, Canadiens and Islanders at home. Away games include trips to play against the Canadies, Maple Leafs, Islanders, Flyers, Capitals, and Blackhawks. March will bring more away games for the Penguins to play against the Stars, Lightning, Panthers, Capitals and Blue Jackets. The other eight games in March will be played on the Penguins territory as they host the Panthers, Senators, Bruins, Thrashers, Kings, Flyers, Flames and Rangers. If home is where the Penguins fair the best, March should provide fans with plenty of opportunities to see the Penguins in action at their very best. April wraps up the NHL 2008-2009 season for all teams in the league. The Penguins will play six final games in April against the Devils and Islanders at home and the Hurricanes, Panthers, Lightning and Canadiens away from home.
